Finally! I am actually writing this blogpost. I filmed a skincare routine video with Angel for our YouTube channel about Three Weeks ago but I haven't had the time to edit it because I am a very busy bee (#Excuses). Nevertheless, let's get onto the blogpost...

Throwback to the year 2008 , when my face was as smooth as a baby's bottom. I remember coming into Secondary School and seeing some of my friends with pimples on their face and feeling so left out because they got to use face-masks and use fancy things on their faces. Then midterm break came by and I went home and asked my mum to get me face-masks but she told me I didn't need it.

You would not believe WHAT I DID! Well...I prayed to God and asked him to give me pimples.

Lmaooo! Well for sure we know that God is very generous and he answers prayers. He didn't just give me one pimple (Naaa that's too small). I became a chocolate chip cookie or a Dalmatian (like my friend, Angel likes to describe my face). It was a very horrific sight and I honestly wish I had pictures to show.

Over the years, I have struggled with intense acne and hyper-pigmentation and I had a very bad habit of always constantly picking at my face (still do, but I am gradually trying to stop). I have also endured the numerous attempts of people constantly trying to recommend products. "Have you tried black soap?", "You should try honey soap", "I have this all natural soap that helped me with my pimples"

Last year I decided to change my skincare routine. I stopped using natural products because even though people say it worked for them, it wasn't working for me. One thing that has really helped with my skincare routine is that I have stuck to the same products and TBH I have seen a tremendous improvement.

Today I wanted to share with you guys the products I use in my skincare routine! In the pictures, the first two pictures were taken in June 2017 and the last picture was taken this month (June 2018).

I usually don't use makeup daily but when I do, I like to wipe up the make up before going into the cleansing step. This is just to ensure that I properly take off the makeup (because I'm not about that pimple life again). I have been using Garnier Micellar All-in-1 Cleansing Water to take off my makeup along side my OLEHENRISKEN Truth On the Glow Cleansing Cloth. This combo is amazing for taking off my makeup and very gentle.

For cleansing my face, I am very loyal to my OLEHENRISKEN The Clean Truth Foaming Cleanser. I have been using it for a year now and I do not regret it. It is good for all kinds of skin and it is a brightening cleaning foam with African red tree extract and Vitamin C. On the days when I want an extra clean, I use OLEHENRISKEN Transforming Walnut Scrub along with my Cleanser.

Lately, I jumped on the Luna Foreo cleansing brush wave and it has been the best decision so far. I used to use the Clarasonic, it was very amazing but really expensive because I had to change the brush head every three months. One reason I like the Luna Foreo Cleansing Brush is because the bristles are made of silicon (hence it is difficult for bacteria to grow on it) and I do not have to change the brush head.

For my toner, I use either the OLEHENRISKEN Balancing Force Oil Control or Witch Hazel. The OLEHENRISKEN Balancing Force Oil Control Toner has salicylic, glycolic, and lactic acids to remove excess oil without stripping the skin. I love this product because it leaves my face feeling clean without drying my skin out. Witch Hazel is a plant which is used as medicine (can be taken by mouth or applied directly to the skin). The Witch Hazel water contains a chemical called tannis which helps to fight bacteria on the skin.

The next step in my routine is my sunscreen. I only use this in my morning routine. I use the Clinique Pep-Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50. I love this product because it does not flash back when I put on makeup and it is really inexpensive!

After my sunscreen, I put on my serum. I am not sure if this is the appropriate order (but oh well it work for me so I don't give a DAMN!).

In my Morning Routine, I use OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum along with The Ordinary- Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA. The OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum has vitamin C which helps with brightening and hydration. The Ordinary- Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA helps to reduce the look of spots and hyper-pigmentation.

In my Night Routine, I substitute my OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum for my OLEHENRISKEN Invigorating Night Transformation Gel. This gel is an anti- aging serum which helps to smooth skin texture, even tone, and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

My go to moisturizer for the day time is the OLEHENRISKEN Sheer Transformation Perfecting moisturizer. It is an oil free moisturizer with a smooth texture. At night, I use my 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Oil from The Ordinary.

Whenever I feel like my skin needs some deep treatment, I use my mask. Lately, I have been using my GLAMGLOW Flashmud Brightening Treatment. It claims to be a solution for dark spots and uneven texture and so far it has kept to its claim. I am almost running out of my current jar and I'll definately be buying a new one!

Whenever I get pimples, I use my Kate Somerville Eradikate Acne Treatment. It helps to minimize pimples and prevent future breakouts. If  you ever feel a pimple growing just put this acne treatment on the spot and before you know it, the devil pimple is dead!

For my Acne Scars, I use my Kate Somerville D-Scar Scar Diminishing Serum. It helps to reduce the appearance of acne scars and uneven texture.

I hope you enjoyed reading all about my skincare routine! I have been using these products for a while now and I am so happy with my results. My skin has improved so far and my only hope is for it to keep getting better! I would love to know what your skincare routine is like. What is one product you can't live without?
